The 1977 annual report for Kuwait's national refining specialists, the Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC). Based out of the Shuaiba Refinery, which closed in 2017 as one of the oldest refineries in Kuwait, KNPC had become nationalized in 1975 and now runs the four major refineries in Kuwait. The report is illustrated throughout after colour photographs of the refinery and shipping business, and includes portraits of Sheikh Sabah III al-Salim al-Sabah, who had passed away in December 1977, Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmad al-Sabah, the new Emir of Kuwait, and Sheikh Saad al-Abdullah al-Salim al-Sabah, the crown prince and prime minister.
