Pocket edition of the 1922 Mandate for Palestine in 28 articles. Includes a photographic reproduction of King George's message to the people of Palestine read by the High Commissioner on 7 July 1920, as well as a reproduction of the famous Balfour Declaration, a public statement issued by the British Government in 1917 during the First World War announcing its support for the establishment of a "national home for the Jewish people" in Palestine, then an Ottoman region with a small minority Jewish population. This greatly increased popular support for Zionism within Jewish communities worldwide, and became a core component of the British Mandate for Palestine, the founding document of Mandatory Palestine.
Wrappers spotted; small tear to upper left corner of lower cover.
