Resolutions of the 1974 conference of the Arab Lawyers Union held in Baghdad, including remarks on the Palestine question. The conference deems Zionist presence in Palestine "a danger to the entire Arab nation" and expresses support for the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO). At the time, the PLO sought to establish an Arab state over the entire territory of former Mandatory Palestine, advocating the elimination of the State of Israel.

The Arab Lawyers Union was founded in Cairo, Egypt, in 1944 by a group of Arab lawyers, including Tawfiq al-Hakim. The union was created in response to the growing need for a professional association that could represent the interests of Arab lawyers and their clients in the face of foreign domination in the Arab world.
