Rare government publication advertising the recently-founded United Arab Emirates, presenting each of the seven Emirates individually through text and image, with town plans and numerous illustrations in colour and black-and-white. Among the most notable images appear portraits of ruling families, aerial views of Abu Dhabi and Dubai visualizing their transformation from pearl fishing towns to modern cities, an impressive shot of Port Rashid, and landmarks of Sharjah including the International Airport, the UAE broadcasting station and the Arab Bank, along with forts, mosques and illuminated fountains, as well as more traditional subjects like farming, fishing and craftmanship.

Only four library copies traceable worldwide: at New York University, the American University in Cairo, the Humboldt University in Berlin and the British Library. An interesting guide to the Emirates illustrating their transformation in the early 1970s.
