The Vienna-based Inlibris Gilhofer Nfg. is pulling out a piece of world history - the long-dormant will of Martin Luther, the priest who launched the Protestant Reformation in 1517. For about 280,000 euros ($377,000 at press time), it can be yours.
"What we are offering is actually the letter Luther wrote on the day of his departure for the Imperial Diet in Augsburg," Christopher Frey of Inlibris explained. "That's where he was to be questioned by the Inquisition and - he expected - executed for heresy. Therefore, this farewell to his friends in Wittenberg is considered by scholarship something of a 'last will and testament.'"
