Apart from the calendar (which is given for Catholics, Protestants, Greek Orthodox, Jewish, and Muslim believers), the volumes contain genealogical and astronomical matter, discussing sundials, Viennese fires of 1836, how to weigh cattle, measurements, Viennese directions, stamp fees, etc.

Since 1842 the son of the astronomer Joseph Johann von Littrow served as director of the Viennese observatory and professor of astronomy at the University of Vienna, where he also was director in 1870/71.

Binding somewhat loosened in places; a few loose leaves. Tax stamp to titles. Some light waterstaining to 1839 volume; title-page of 1846 volume has a contemporary ownership.
