Only Viennese edition of this rare devotional book. Sculpoli, a student of St. Andrew Avellino, was a Theatine priest. Unfrocked in 1585 due to slander, he withdrew into seclusion and wrote his "Certamen spirituale", among the many admirers of which was St. Francis de Sales.
Slightly rubbed and bumped; lower spine-end defective. Interior clean and spotless throughout.
