Oblong 8vo (postcard). ½ page.
Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau.
A representative of early German Impressionism and the main initiator of the "Freie Vereinigung Dresdner Künstler", which later formed part of the Dresden Secession, Kuehl specialized in interior painting, frequently featuring social facilities including orphan houses, as well as architectural scenery, and founded the artists' association "Die Elbier" in 1902.
Traces of small folds near corners. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
