Source material for the 1995 American drama film of the same name, directed by Mike Figgis and starring Cage and Elisabeth Shue. The film was a critical and commercial success, garnering four Academy Award nominations, of which it won one (Best Actor - Nicolas Cage), along with a number of nominations and awards from other film critic organizations.
