To the publisher Maurice Delamain of Librairie Stock, offering him the dramatization of her autobiographical novel "La Vagabonde" for publication: "La Vagabonde en 4 actes va passer à la Renaissance. Voulez-vous éditer la pièce ? Quelles conditions ? quel tirage ? Vous serez tout à fait aimable de me répondre sans retard". In a short postscript, Colette informs Delamain that she has not yet received the luxury copies of her 1923 publication with Stock, "Rêverie de Nouvel An". The play was ultimately published by Flammarion in 1923.

Apparently, Maurice Delamain used the letter for graphological analysis, maybe even publication, marking a sample of the text and signature with blue crayon, adding "fig. 40" in red, and asserting, in the same crayon, on the verso: "Extroverted sensation. 2 clichés on the same page". Delamain was a devoted practitioner of graphology and contributed to several publications on the pseudoscience, including the French translation of Max Pulver's treatise on graphology. From 1945 to 1967 he served as president of the French graphological society.

On stationery of the "Collection Colette". Stamped by Librairie Stock. Two lines of text affected by unprofessional restoration with adhesive tape. Minor tears and some browning.
