Only edition, rare. Catalogue and commentary of 214 inscriptions commemorating key events in the reign of Maria Theresa. This uncommon epigraphic approach to political history by the Novara historian Ferrari (1717-91) provides a compact overview of the armed conflicts in which the young sovereign was involved between 1740 and 1763, including the war with Prussia. Further, it includes inscriptions mentioning historic achievements and events such as the coronations in Budapest and Prague.

An inkstain to the title-page, otherwise very well preserved. Rarely seen in the trade.
