Curious manuscript of a cantata in three stanzas in honour of Emperor Napoleon III entitled "Le Soleil de la France", celebrating the monarch as a genius and as a guarantor of peace. A stamp of the famous concert-café Eldorado indicates that Strauss had either been commissioned by the Eldorado or participated in a competition.
