To a friend about his caloric engine and other engineering endeavours: "I have asked Mr Brannon [?] to meet me at Delamater at 4 o'clock today to see how caloric is pushing along [...] The Boston pumping engine astonishes me, it makes 60 strokes under 150 feet column. The cast iron air vessel had several blow holes and leaked air so that I have ordered a new one to be put on. I think you must have a 12 inch pumping engine at work in your office with the exhaust carried off [...] But exhibition would do you good. The Metropolitan engine was right back on Saturday at your request but will leave this morning for the bank [...]".

In excellent condition.
