To an old friend and collaborator, asking him whether he knows what became of his painting "En dérive" since it had been exhibited in Madrid: "Sais-tu ce qui est devenu mon tableau en dérive enfant sur l'aviron. Je l'ai exposé à Madrid mais je ne sais plus qui était chargé de l'envoi. Tu pourras savoir ça par Pottier ou autres. J'ai l'intention de l'envoyer ailleurs. Il faudrait non pas rentrer le tableau à l'atelier mais simplement savoir ou il est et s'il n'est pas revenu savoir quand il reviendra [...]".
