"Hollywood, my favorite spot on this earth"

Wodehouse, P[elham] G[renville], English writer (1881-1975). Autograph letter signed.

Le Touquet, 12 Feb. 1936.

1 S. 4to.

To the film producer and co-founder of Universal Pictures, Carl Laemmle: "Your letter brought back to me very vivid recollections of all the happy days I spent at Hollywood, my favorite spot on this earth. I should feel very out of place and embarassed among all your celebrities, were it not that I have one unique claim to fam[e]. When people, turning the pages of your book, ask 'Who is P. G. Wodehouse?', you can reply 'He is the only man who ever walked from Beverly Hills to the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studios' [...]".

Small tear (touching "e" in "fame") and severe traces of former mounting.
