Beautiful and very rare first edition of Schumann's opus 107 with the composer's autograph inscription to Wolfgang Müller, whose poem "Im Walde" he had set to music in this work. An important and very rare inscription.

Between 1850 and 1853, the physician, politician and poet Wolfgang Müller von Königswinter was very close to the Schumann family: he was godfather at the christening of Clara's and Robert Schumann's fourth daughter Eugenie on 31 January 1852, and for a time in 1852 also served as Robert Schumann's medical advisor.

Slightly stained and browned at the edges, otherwise in good condition.
