From his exile in France to the art dealer Paul Pia, concerning the shipment of two landscape paintings, one of his views of the waterfalls near Hauteville (Ain) and Lake Geneva agitated by the regional Vaudaire wind, and announcing two more paintings: "Je vous envoie deux toiles dans les mesures demandés. Elles sont franches et réussies, il y a la petite cascade d'Hauteville et la vaudaire sur le lac Léman. Je désire les vendre 1200 f. pour moi. Tout à vous, je vais tâcher d'en faire encore deux."
