An extensive collection of letters, cards, portraits and ephemera by and relating to one of the most talented and beloved stage and screen actors of his generation, assembled over many decades.

1973. The trove further includes a brief but cordial correspondence with Ottilie "Otti" Muck, an admirer whom Oskar Werner thanks for letters and congratulations from the mid-1960s to the year before his death, advising her of television broadcasts and reporting on health matters: "Zum 'Mozart' Film darf ich Ihnen sagen, er wird am 8. (19 Sept. 1982).

The collection stands out not only for Werner's autographs, but also for the staggering number of ephemera, dating from 1956 until far beyond Werner's passing. They include 23 autograph letters and cards by the actress Antje Weisgerber, Werner's romantic partner from 1970 until 1979, 12 mostly autograph letters and cards by Werner's biographer Robert Dachs, 39 programmes for 15 of his films (and 11 for films in which he did not perform), 7 large-size lobby posters for 6 films ("Interlude" in two versions), 56 lobby photos of 7 Werner films, 14 lobby and press photos for other films, as well as 3 photos relating to the award of Vienna's Golden Decoration of Honour to Peter Weck in 1985, 58 press and other photos of readings, stage performances, films, etc., 43 photo postcards in costume for "Becket or The Honour of God", "Don Carlos", "Hamlet", "Henry IV", "Henry V", and "Tasso", and numerous shots of Werner's grave in Triesen, plus an uncounted number of publicity clippings from programmes, newspapers, and magazines (some in photocopy) spanning nearly four decades.
