An Arabic manuscript handbook of astronomical calculations, authored by the 19th-century Egyptian astronomer al-'Azzazi and copied by his contemporary, Ali Jumu'ah al-Tamlihi, a well-known scholar from Cairo's ancient Al-Azhar University. Accompanied by six in-text diagrams, one full-page, and numerous charts, al-'Azzazi discusses the deviations of longitude and latitude calculations, the celestial poles, meridians, and related mathematics.

Better known for his other book, "Muqaddima fi 'Amal Mawaqi' 'Aqarib al-Sa'at 'ala Qadr al-Hisas al-Shar'iyya li-Kull 'Ard" ("Introduction on Working the Position of Watch Hands according to the Shari'a Prayer Intervals for any Latitude"), al-Mardini was an expert in this particular type of astronomical calculation, one often very important for the calculation of the direction of prayer.
