Only edition of one of the most important Dada publications, an early work containing some of Schwitters' finest and most original illustrations of the 1920s. With the wrapper title "Merz 8". This specimen includes the rare sealing strip, Schwitters' riposte for having been ostracized by the Berlin Dada Circle, who refused to admit him to the First International Dada Fair. The front is lithographed: "Sealed for sanitary reasons. Caution: Anti-dada"; the back reads: "Unsealed copies are to be rejected. K. S. Merz. 1920." The seal is broken (as in all known copies).
