Order to pay 50 guilders to Lienhard Wallisser, but ten days after Maximilian was elected Emperor in the Dome of Trent. With the assent of Pope Julius II, Maximilian took the title "Elected Roman Emperor", thus ending the centuries-old custom that the Holy Roman Emperor had to be crowned by the pope, as the Republic of Venice refused to let Maximilian cross its territory to go to Rome.
