To Charles Rowley: "[...] I am just finishing the next instalment of the Memoirs [of a Revolutionist] which has to be posted next Friday, for the States, - and every minute, even late at night, has to be given to it. Late with the MS., as always! And Sophie will not let herself be persuaded that she may go when I am working so hard as I am the last few days before posting the MS. But - will you be in London on Sunday? And if so - have you disposed of it already? If not, we should be delighted to have you with us for lunch at 1.30. There is a train which may bring you in good time. Think of it, dear friend, and if you can, we should be so pleased to have you in our cot and you would see all of us, including the little girl who every day grows to become a big girl [...]".

Small tear on fol. 2, otherwise in fine condition.
