Single folium of a Latin manuscript of monastic origin comprising Epistolae 68 and 146 of St Jerome (ca. 342-420). Similar texts by St Jerome and other Fathers of the Church were copied in monastic scriptoria all over medieval Europe. Many such manuscripts were disbound later and repurposed for the bookbinding process, which is what most likely happened to the present folium, as well.

In letter 68, adressed to his friend Castricianus, Jerome denies the idea of blindness as a divine punishment. Epistola 146 to Evangelus discusses the distinction between deacons, presbyters and bishops.

Clean vertical cut, touching text without causing loss. Right edge and corners narrowly trimmed with text loss. Ink stain to right column. A rare survival.
