First edition.

Second volume only of this two-volume compilation. While the first volume covers the events from Napoleon's birth and childhood up to the Consulate, the present volume treats his role as Emperor of the French, his divorce from Josephine and wedding to Marie Louise, the downfall of the Empire and the Hundred Days, as well as his exile on St. Helena and his death. The account is accompanied by detailed illustrations, mostly showing scenes from Napoleon's military campaigns and battles.

Rather browned and brownstained throughout. From the library of the Viennese collector Werner Habel, with his signed and stamped ownership, dated 1976, to front pastedown.
