A set of heliotypes showing (mostly) sites in Upper Egypt: Luxor (4), Qurnah (1), Karnak (3), Thebes (5, including the Ramasseum, Medinet Habu and Deir el-Medina), Edfu (2), and Philae (4), but also including images of the local population: water carriers, workers at a shaduf, a family of Bisharis, as well as nomads with their camels and the Pyramids of Gizeh. The accompanying volume of text describes many of the places depicted, as well as several others.

Some images somewhat foxed, but mostly clean and well-preserved.
