("I hope that you will make the appointment with the photographer for tomorrow after breakfast? I would also like him to photograph Princess Beatrice with her Spanish hat. Please tell Bending [?] to take the mausoleum from several sides and that he is also to be at Frogmore early in the morning of the 17th - to hear my orders regarding the interior of the Mausoleum").

At the time of writing, the building later known as the Royal Mausoleum at Frogmore was being constructed for the Queen Mother, who had passed away in May 1861. From December onwards, following the death of Prince Albert, it was expanded to serve as the final resting place of the Queen and the late Prince Consort.
