Charming pencil and watercolour study of the wind tower in the Old Persian Quarter of Manama, Bahrain, signed by the artist ("Ramane"?). A lovely composition of earthy tones set against a rich blue sky. The bright white clothes of a figure passing the foot of the tower instantly catches the eye.

A remnant of early Arabian engineering, wind towers are a traditional architectural element, originating from Persia, to create cross ventilation and passive cooling in buildings.

Notes of a former collector and signs of former mounting on the reverse. In excellent condition.
