Only French edition. Translated from Turkish by the author, with a preface by Charles Diehl. The Turkish painter, writer and politician Celal Esat (Djelal Essad) Arseven (1876-1971) made contributions to various fields, including photography, art history, theatre, cinema, architecture and urbanism, pioneering the acceptance of the concept of a unique "Turkish art".
