First edition. An illustrated numismatic catalogue complementing Rabino's 1945 work on the same subject, which had remained unillustrated due to wartime conditions and the removal to safe places of the numismatic collections in British and French museums. The plates make up two thirds of the volume, and, almost crowded with specimens, they exhibit an immense amount of Iranian coins and medals dating back to the tenth century.
Spine head very slightly rubbed. A fine gift copy presented in 1955 with autograph inscription from the mother of the recently deceased author.
