Confirming that the late Johann Friedrich Ferstl was an active member of the imperial and royal court chapel and belonged to the imperial household: "Daß der seel. Johann Fridolin Ferstl Hoforgelmacher als wirkliches Mitglied bey der k.k. Hofkapelle angestellt gewesen - daß er mit derselben sowohl hier Orts bey den Hofkirchendiensten und Hofkammermusiken, als außerhalb des Landes bey den Krönungen und Feyerlichkeiten persönliche Dienste gethan habe - daß derselbe mithin ein wirklicher Hofdiener und als solcher unmittelbar zum allerhöchsten Hofstaate gehörig gewesen, wird anmit bezeuget [...]".
The organ maker Johann Friedrich (not Fridolin) Ferstl (ca. 1720-85) built the organs of Vienna's Hofburg chapel, the court hospital chapel on Vienna's Rennweg, the chapel in Schönbrunn, and the Hofkammer chapel in der Hofburg (now the Presidential Chancellery).
