Classified maps of Saudi Arabia, prepared for military use by the U.S. National Imagery and Mapping Agency; one stamped "for official use only". Two large and incredibly detailed plans of Hafar al Batin and King Khalid Military City, a cantonment in northeastern Saudi Arabia, approximately 60 km south of Hafar al-Batin city. Constructed during the 1970s and 1980s, King Khalid Military City was designed and built by the Middle East Division, a unit of the United States Army Corps of Engineers. During the Gulf War, KKMC served as a housing facility for thousands of American and coalition soldiers. Its airport was among the most utilized during combat operations, alongside bases in Dhahran and Riyadh.
The present maps indicate airfields and heliports, shooting ranges, vehicle shelter and encampments, next to theatres, schools, hospitals, power and water treatment plants, radio communication facilities, places of worship, race tracks and "VIP villas".
In very good condition.
