First edition. A collection of short essays on the United Arab Emirates, compiled by the Ministry of Information and Culture. Published in 1976, the texts describe the rapid development of the UAE, and show how vast oil revenues were harnessed to advance education, welfare and infrastructure across the seven Emirates. It includes two speeches by H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (one at the 5th Conference on Non-aligned Countries, and an address to the Federal National Council), in which he communicates his ambitions for the UAE as a regional and global power.
A revised version of this government publication (shorter at 52 pp.) appears to have been issued as part of "United Arab Emirates: Where Dreams Come True" (Abu Dhabi, 1976).
Extremities rubbed, a few creases and scratches to covers, otherwise good.
