An Urdu lithographed book on the education of women, by an early proponent of the standardization of Urdu orthography in print. Dibi (also spelled Debi) Prashad was a prolific writer and poet of the 19th-century blooming of Urdu printed literature; he authored poetic romantic lampoons and jokes, works on law, grammar, logic, fables, and mathematics. The title "Munshi" was introduced during the Mughal Empire, and was given as a mark of respect to those who had distinguished themselves with the art of writing.
