Pencil drawing on paper with autograph inscription and date on the verso: "Elise / Possenhofen 24. August 1848".

The drawing shows a simple building, made from wood and stone. At the time, the later Empress of Austria (known familiarly as Sisi) was ten years old and lived in Possenhofen Castle on Lake Starnberg in Bavaria.

Condition

Minimal fingerstaining with a slight, hardly visible creasemark at the margin; minor stains and a little browned.
