Only edition of this scarce Burmese publication, a long lecture on the theological and practical differences between, and the relative merits of, Islam and Christianity, delivered in Moulmein (now Mawlamyine), British Burma, a province of British India since 1886. The author was the local politician and merchant (Sir) Mirza Abdul Hosain (1852-1921), who had started his business in Bombay before relocating to Burma, where he married the daughter of a respected Moulmein Muslim and served on the Legislative Council. He moved to Vepery, Madras (Chennai) in 1916, where he again served on the Legislative Council and also as Sheriff (1919). He was knighted in 1921.
Inscribed on the upper wrapper: "To Mr Hosain Khan Danish / As a token of respect & esteem / Mirza Mohamed Sadiq / 3-8-1912".
Browned and creased; chipped edges professionally restored; no loss to text. An inherently fragile survival. Extremely rare: a single copy known in library catalogues (British Library, Reference Collections).
