Scientific paper by the leading geologist of the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company, George Martin Lees (1898-1955). Inscribed copy signed by the author: "With the Compliments of G. M. Lees".

The paper studies the geological structure of oilfields in the Middle East, including the Zubair and Burgan fields in Iraq, or the Dukhan field in Qatar. The chart shows a Bubnoff diagram indicating the structural and sedimentary history between the Persian mountain zone and the Arabian foreland. The map shows prominent oilfields in the Middle East with high density on the Persian Gulf.
