Rare coloured map of the states of the Arab League in the mid-1950s. In addition to the seven founding members of 1945 - Egypt, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Transjordan, Saudi Arabia and North Yemen - the present map includes Sudan, a member of the League since 19 January 1956. Left blank are the neighbouring countries which are not members of the Arab League, including South Yemen, Oman, Kuwait and the neutral zone, Palestine, Ethiopia, Somaliland, portions of Iran, Kenya, Belgian Congo, French Equatorial Africa, Lybia and Turkey. The map indicates national borders, roads and railroads, major towns, settlements and rivers.
A few small tears and piercings repaired with Japan paper. Some brown spots.
