First edition, inscribed and signed by the author. The political memoirs of Amin bin Abdul-Jabbar bin Ibrahim Mumayiz, a member of the diplomatic corps of Iraq, appointed Minister Plenipotentiary of the Iraqi government in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 1954. During his two years in Saudi Arabia, al-Mumayyiz prepared the present memoir, including descriptions of Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dhahran, a photograph of his meeting with King Saud, reports of trips to Bahrain, Qatar, and Beirut, accounts of his two pilgrimages to Mecca, and a visit to his friend St John Philby, the British Arabist and advisor to King Abdulaziz. The plate shows the author in Arab dress.

Rare: OCLC lists only four copies, all in institutions in Israel.

Extremities faintly rubbed. Interior in excellent condition.
