Rare documents on the construction of a highway from Dubai to Sharjah, prepared by Dar Al-Handasah Engineers for the UAE government, Ministry of Public Works. Includes tender forms and guarantees, conditions of contract, labour agreements, materials, estimated costs and schedule, a bill of quantities, and some illustrated lists of required road signs. The present documents cover the construction of approximately 14 kms of the second carriageway of a divided four-lane highway linking the Dubai Airport Roundabout to the Sharjah Port Roundabout. The then-existing road between the two cities represented the first carriageway of such a highway.
